Apple’s cloud-based computing service, Mobile Me, has been offering users a way to store information that can be accessed through the iPhone, laptops, desktops, or the iPad. This service give users the ability to sync and back up their mail, contacts, photos, videos and other data to ensure that they always can access the information that they need.
After recently taking down Mobile Me for maintenance purposes, it’s plausible that Apple could be adding a cloud-based music service. This service would allow users to be able to store music that they have purchased from iTunes in the cloud, and thus be able to sync it with all of their devices. Apple is working on upgrading the whole service to make it available to everyone.
With the current service being priced at $99 annually, the new, revamped service could possibly drop to only $20, making it much more affordable. With the new ‘Music Locker’ being incorporated into Mobile Me, hopefully the storage space will also increase to allow users to store more music. This is a great probability, as some users have tons of music on their iTunes and, in order for them to be able to store all their music, Apple would have to increase the storage size of Mobile Me. Look for this updated version of Mobile Me to be coming out very soon.
